Hyderabad: Telangana High Court ne 42% BC Reservation par qanooni aitraaz ke baad local body elections ka process roak diya hai. Abhi ke liye elections muattal ho chuke hain.
Jumeraat ko High Court ne mukhtalif arzidawaon par do rozah samaat mukammal ki. Petitioners ne 42% BC reservation ko challenge kiya. Court ne sirf election notification par stay diya, lekin reservation policy ko barqarar rakha.
Court ne hukoomat ko 4 hafton mein jawab jama karne ko kaha. Petitioners ko 2 hafton ki mohlat mili hai taake woh bhi apne jawab jama kara saken. Saari intervention applications bhi qubool ki gayi hain. Tafseelat baad mein pesh ki jaayengi.
Hukoomat ka Moaqif:
Advocate General Sudarshan Reddy ne kaha ke Telangana ne empirical data ikatt ha kiya. Yeh kaam doosri riyasatein nahi kar sakiin. Unhon ne Article 243-O ka hawala diya aur kaha ke notification ke baad adalti mudakhlat nahi honi chahiye.
Unka kehna tha ke 2011 census mein BC ka data nahi tha. Is liye, hukoomat ne virtual census kiya taake quota ko qanooni taeed mil sake.
Indra Sawhney ka Faisla:
Reddy ne kaha ke Indra Sawhney faisla jobs aur education tak mehdood tha. Uska taalluq political reservations se nahi. Court ne is moot point par faisla mehfooz kar liya hai.
Filhal, Telangana ke local elections ka future clear nahi. Court ke order ke baad intikhabat ka amal ruk gaya hai. Aane wali samaaton mein faisla expected hai.
